Where the contract contains a financing component which provides a significant financing benefit to the Group, revenue recognised under that contract includes the interest expense accreted on the contract liability under the effective interest method. The Group takes advantage of the practical expedient in paragraph 63 of HKFRS 15 and does not adjust the consideration for any effects of a significant financing component if the period of financing is 12 months or less. Further details of the Group’s revenue and other income recognition policies are as follows: (i) Transaction fees, handling fees and registration fees Revenue is recognised when the control over the services have been transferred to customers. (ii) Annual subscription fees Revenue is recognised on a time-apportioned basis by reference to the period of the subscription. (iii) Sale of goods Revenue from sale of goods is recognised when the control of the goods have been transferred to customers and is after deduction of any trade discounts. (iv) Dividends Dividend income from unlisted investments is recognised when the shareholder’s right to receive payment is established.
