The purpose of the funding is to provide financial support to enterprises to retain their employees who would otherwise be made redundant. Under the terms of the grant, the Group is required not to make redundancies during the subsidy period and to spend all the funding on paying wages to the employees. (b) The government grants were under the Innovation and Technology Fund (“the Fund”), set up by the Hong Kong Government. The purpose of the Fund is to encourage innovation by granting financial assistance to commercial entities whose research and development projects meet certain criteria.
