Note 1: The calculation of basic earnings per share is based on the profit attributable to
equity shareholders of the Company of HK$33,326,000 (2016: HK$36,683,000)
and the weighted average number of ordinary shares in issue during the period of
794,576,000 (2016: 794,276,000 shares).
Note 2: The calculation of diluted earnings per share is based on the profit attributable to equity
shareholders of the Company of HK$33,326,000 (2016: HK$36,683,000) and the
weighted average number of ordinary shares of 794,704,000 (2016: 794,435,000
shares), after adjusting for the effect of potential dilution from ordinary shares issuable
under the Company’s share option schemes.
Note 3: The 2017 interim dividend of HK 3.2 cents per share is calculated based on the
dividend payout ratio of about 74.1% of the profit attributable to the equity shareholders
of the Company of HK$34,316,000, after adjusting for the deferred tax charge of
HK$990,000 and the number of ordinary shares of 794,585,719 as at 30 June
2017.
