(a) Basic earnings per share
The calculation of basic earnings per share is based on the
profit attributable to ordinary equity shareholders of the
Company of HK$74,120,000 (2016: HK$79,252,000) and the
weighted average number of 794,581,000 ordinary shares
(2016: 794,354,000 ordinary shares) in issue during the year,
