(b) Diluted earnings per share
The calculation of diluted earnings per share is based on the
profit attributable to ordinary equity shareholders of the
Company of HK$74,120,000 (2016: HK$79,252,000) and the
weighted average number of ordinary shares of 794,647,000
(2016: 794,605,000) after adjusting for the effect of the
potential dilution from ordinary shares issuable under the
Company’s share option schemes, calculated as follows:
